What is
tsunami?

A series of large ocean waves caused by the sudden displacement of a massive volume of water, most commonly from vertical seafloor movement during a subduction-zone earthquake. Barely noticeable in open ocean; dangerous only as it slows and grows taller approaching shallow coastal water.
